I am a self-taught architectural and fine art photographer living in Belgium with my partner Anja, daughter Kirsten and sweet cat, who is my best friend, that listens to the name Noxy.
Unique digital experiencesMy creative journey started back in 1997 with web design and development. The internet was still young, slow and accessed through a modem. I had a Power Macintosh G3, Adobe Photoshop 4 and a small business called Pixel Design.
Photography was still analogue at the time, but I was already fascinated by what you could do with a camera. I experimented with concert photography and, when digital photography arrived, I quickly discovered a whole new world of possibilities.
A series of Canon cameras eventually led me to the Canon 5D Mark II. That camera changed things. I started experimenting with model photography, and photography slowly found its way into my business.
Unique digital experiencesWedding photography gradually grew into a serious part of my business. In 2018 and 2019, I photographed more than 25 weddings a year, rented out more than 45 photobooths, and took on various other photography assignments.
I also started working in real estate photography, while landscape and sunset photography remained a personal passion.
In 2022, after eight years of wedding photography, I photographed my last wedding. It was time for a new chapter.
Throughout my life, I've switched several times between being fully self-employed and combining a regular job with self-employment as a secondary occupation. Today, I work full time in the security sector while continuing to run my photography business alongside it.
My focus is now on architectural photography and fine art photography.
I’m also the founder and creator of shootbee, a platform I’m building for photographers and creative professionals to manage their business, projects and clients in one place. It combines my background in technology, design and photography into one project that I’m very passionate about.
This new chapter gives me the freedom to be more creative and, most importantly, to spend my time doing what I love most:
